Quick & Easy Recipe to Delicious Shrimp Alfredo

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Deveined and Peeled Shrimp Fresh or frozen with tails off
  • 1 Box Fettucine Alfredo Pasta
  • 1 1/2 Cup Broccoli Or you can take it easy with Steamfresh Broccoli! (No judgment here, I've done it several times!)
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Parsley
  • Salt and Pepper

If Making Alfredo Sauce From Scratch

  • Butter
  • Heavy Cream Half and Half or Whole Milk
  • 1 Pinch Nutmeg

Instructions

  • Start by adding a little salt to your water and bringing it to a boil. Once the water has started boiling, cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
  • While you have the pasta cooking, season the shrimp with salt and pepper to taste. I sometimes will steam the shrimp in a separate pot and then add it to the skillet, or as a second option you can melt some butter in a large skillet over medium heat on the stove. This takes about 2-3 minutes per side for your shrimp. After you do that, you can remove the shrimp from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Now it's time to think about your broccoli. Are you using Steamfresh Broccoli? If so, it's simple, you can just following the instructions on the package and have perfectly cooked broccoli in a matter of minutes.
If you're choosing to cook your broccoli on your own, you should add a tablespoon of olive oil in the skillet and then add in your broccoli for about 4 minutes. Add in 1/4 cup water, and cook uncovered until the water has evaporated, and the broccoli is crisp tender. Transfer the cooked broccoli to a medium size bowl.
  • Did you drain your cooked pasta? If not, make sure it's drained and then add it to the skillet along with the shrimp and broccoli you've prepared, and then add in the jar of alfredo sauce. You may need two, depending on your need.
  • Toss in the pasta until the pasta is well coated. Top with parsley and some extra Parmesan Cheese if you desire and SERVE!

If You Wish To Make The Alfredo Sauce From Scratch:

  • Once your pasta and shrimp are in the skillet, melt the remaining butter and cook the garlic until it becomes aromatic.
  • Add heavy cream by whisking it in, add nutmeg and let simmer for a few minutes.
  • When the sauce begins to thicken, turn the heat to low and add the Parmesan Cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese melts.
  • Season with salt and pepper and then return the shrimp to the skillet.
  • Toss in the pasta until the pasta is well coated. Top with parsley and some extra Parmesan Cheese if you desire and SERVE!

If you prepare this dish, let me know what you think in the comments below! It’s a painless recipe, but leads to a delicious quick and simple dish! I feel like a lot of the time our go-to dish when we’re looking for something that’ll last us a couple days is spaghetti, but if your family loves shrimp (which I’m assuming they do because you’re here!), this dish can be something “different” to look forward to!
